I’m Rachel, the creator and founder of Grass Fed Beauty, an ancestral tallow skincare brand rooted in my passion for natural, nourishing skincare. What began as a personal journey to provide my family with pure, effective skincare quickly evolved into something much greater. I take immense joy in handcrafting each product and seeing my customers, family, and friends embrace the benefits of natural skincare. Living in the picturesque state of Maine with my family and beloved animals, I balance my time between formulating my tallow-based products, working at a local supplement store, homeschooling my son, and spending as much time outdoors as possible with my dogs.
Every batch of Grass Fed Beauty skincare is meticulously handcrafted in small batches using only the highest-quality ingredients. I source all of my beef fat locally from trusted butchers, ensuring that I use only the purest fat from around the kidneys—recognized for its superior nutrient content and minimal impurities. Unlike many other brands, I never use imported fat, instead choosing to support local farmers and butchers in Maine. While our long winters mean that grass-feeding isn't always possible year-round, I take great care in ensuring the cows I source from are fed a natural diet of hay and organic feed when fresh grass is unavailable. Beyond tallow, I thoughtfully select complementary ingredients that are organic and natural, including essential oils sourced from a small business in Georgia. My carefully formulated tallow blends are designed to help with various skin concerns, including cystic acne, eczema, keratosis pilaris, and psoriasis. Rich in essential fatty acids like CLAs and Omega-3s, tallow closely mimics the natural oils found in human skin, making it a deeply nourishing and healing ingredient.
